Quadriptych

The analysis of Magdalena Nowatkowska's quadriptych from the “In-Between” series can focus on several key aspects such as composition, color, form and the theme of the titular space “between”

Quadriptych, four separate but coherent images that create one larger whole. Each painting contains minimalist, geometric forms and lines that are arranged in such a way as to create harmonious, although slightly asymmetrical compositions. Lines and rectangles create an impression of depth and multidimensionality on a flat surface.

The color palette is subdued and limited mainly to pastel shades, with pure white dominating between small objects and spaces.

These compositions exude peace and subtlety.

Geometric forms separated by spaces can symbolize isolation, separation, but also connection and interactions between different spheres of life. It is an attempt to present what is invisible to the eye, but important for understanding the full picture of human experiences.

The artist does not impose clear answers, but provokes reflection and personal reading, to think about the space “between” various aspects of life.
