Amber Walk 2/2

The diptych “Amber walk” by Magdalena Nowatkowska from the “Limits” series presents two separate works that form

a coherent narrative. These works are inspired by the atmosphere and aura

of Sopot.
The color scheme of both works revolves around warm shades of beige, brown, and subtle accents of black, creating

a sense of calm and harmony.

The geometry of the composition

and abstract forms suggest influences

of modernism and minimalism, emphasizing the boundary between abstraction and figuration.

In the second painting of the diptych,

the darker background resembling

the color of amber is more prominent,

which may symbolize dusk or late afternoon. The dominant form

is an abstract silhouette of a figure.

The edges are sharper, and the contrast between the dark background and lighter elements is more pronounced, giving this part of the diptych a more dynamic and mysterious character.
The artist explores the relationships between light and shadow, movement and stillness, or inner and outer space. Between night and day.
