Bathroom
The painting “Bathroom” is an example of abstract geometric art, dominated by rectangular shapes and a regular grid of lines. The central element of the composition is a large rectangle, which seems to be highlighted and isolated from the rest of the image by a red frame. Inside this rectangle there is another, smaller rectangle. In the right corner, there is a small black square that contrasts with the entire composition and gives it additional depth.
The colors of the painting are subdued and subtle. Pastel shades of pink and white dominate. The colors bring a calm, even intimate atmosphere to the work, which may refer to the “bathroom” in the title. So, places of relaxation and personal reflection. The red frame and small black square add expressiveness to the composition, but do not dominate, remaining in harmony with the whole. It can symbolize the boundaries of personal space – it can be a metaphor for privacy, intimacy or isolation.
The outer grid of lines may represent the structural constraints imposed by the environment, while the central form attempts to maintain its distinct character. It creates a separate, seemingly safe space. It is a picture about the splendor of simplicity and the great importance of everyday space, one's own place.
