Big-eyed
The figure in the painting is reduced
to simple, geometric shapes, where large, oval eye forms dominate
the composition. The disproportionate large eyes and the contrast between
them and the minimalist form of the face might provoke reflection on the way
we see others and the world.
It is an attempt to analyze our experience of the world.
Through abstraction and figuration,
a space is created for dialogue
on human identity and emotions
in surrounding circumstances.
Line plays a significant role here, drawing the outline of the figure and separating
it from the background. The lines
are simple and clear. They create boundaries, dividing and connecting
at the same time. These are not just physical barriers but also metaphors
for the emotional and psychological limitations people face in times of crisis.
Although devoid of details, the figure
is decidedly human. Its exaggerated eyes may suggest an all-encompassing gaze… Large eyes are a window to the soul,
a metaphor for emotional response
to surrounding events.
A metaphor for perception.
