Hidden signals
On a uniform, cool grey background, three subtle, vertical traces in white attract attention with their simplicity. Two of them are located close to each other, in the upper left part of the canvas, the third – lonely – is located lower, closer to the center. Their economical form and precise arrangement create tension between presence and absence, closeness and distance.
The painting, as part of the “Limits” series, asks questions about relationships – both interpersonal and internal. Bright signs, resembling silhouettes. They can symbolize people, emotions or memories. Their arrangement suggests the existence of invisible barriers – boundaries that do not divide physically, but mentally and emotionally.
Each element seems important, and the empty space around it acts like an echo – reinforcing the silence and leaving room for personal interpretation. The painting does not provide clear answers – rather it provokes reflection: Where do I end and you begin? How close can you be without losing yourself?
This is a painterly meditation on distance, intimacy and loneliness. Boundaries, although invisible, are present – subtle but significant.
