Consternation
This work, like others in the series, explores boundaries in an emotional
and symbolic context, and responds
to the unpredictability of the world around us.
The symmetry of the painting evokes
a sense of order and balance, which contrasts with the anxiety expressed
by exaggerated eyes and dark background. This creates the impression of the duality of experience – the need for harmony in confrontation
with internal and external chaos.
Between the figures lies a darker background, which may symbolize
a space of uncertainty, conflict,
or misunderstanding that divides people in times of crisis.
“Consternation” is part of a larger narrative about human emotions, relationships, and resilience.
It is a painting about how people respond to the challenges posed by fate – whether they are able to find common points of understanding and empathy,
or remain in a state of consternation.
The author encourages reflection
on the human experience and reactions. On the boundary between calm
and chaos, between strength
and powerlessness, between closeness and distance – reminding
us of the complexity of human nature and our constant need to seek meaning in the world around us.
