Borrowed Miniatures
These are adopted fragments of life.
Not created by the artist.
But already framed by her. In the series “Borrowed Images”, the artist takes us on a journey of pure abstractions, records from the street, a walk, the cinema, a concert, a journey. The author immortalizes fragments of reality that are not her own creations. She discovers them – by accident, notes, sketches, remembers
them from everyday life.
They are like narrow frames from a wide perspective of life. Moments that break out of the artist's studio, because paradoxically it is beyond it that the most inspiration flows. Interesting combinations of random exhibitions, small elements and larger objects that seem insignificant at first glance.
Aimless and without specific functions, only adjacent to each other in the public space. However, it is these moments that stop the artist, inspire her. She “borrows” them and immortalizes them, so that what has delighted far away can be closer.
In the series “Borrowed Images”, the artist follows the magic of fleeting moments that constitute the true essence of life. She discovers beauty
and meaning in what often goes unnoticed. These images are a nod
to chance, inspiration
and unexpected beauty that can be found in the least expected places, moments, circumstances. Beauty accessible to everyone, the beauty of public space.
This is an attempt to appreciate the uniqueness of everyday life, which sometimes escapes
our attention. And yet it is enough to stop for a moment and look.
And then almost certainly, to notice.
ZM – miniatures from the series “Borrowed Images”
The artist set herself the goal of building a large installation. It is to consist of 1,000 miniatures. From many small tiles, from mini images, remembered, borrowed, cropped from everyday life.
A multitude of tiny objects will build a larger story. A story about what Magdalena sees and remembers. It's a mosaic where each tile tells a different story, and yet somehow they all come together.
