Alone together
The painting “Alone Together” presents two figures positioned opposite each other, separated by a large empty space. A geometric grid in the background introduces a sense of order and coldness, as if the entire scene were unfolding within a world confined by frames and patterns. The figures, simplified and stripped of individual traits, become symbols of the human being—generalized, inscribed into a structure, and yet still alive thanks to the contrasting red lines.
Between them stretches an emptiness that may serve as both a barrier and a space of encounter. The title “Alone Together” provokes the question: is this an intimate meeting of two people, or rather a solitary confrontation with another human being who acts like a mirror? The minimalist form heightens the tension between closeness and distance, intimacy and isolation.
The work can be read as a reflection on contemporary relationships—shaped by limitations and invisible boundaries, in which the presence of another person becomes at once the promise of connection and the experience of solitude.
