Under the Cover of Night
“Under the Cover of Night” presents
a dynamic play of contrasts
and minimalist composition.
The dominating, intensely black background plane starkly contrasts
with the lighter, subtle lines that form human shapes.
This is a pandemic work. It illustrates
the nocturnal conversations
and neighborly relationships of Italians. The night symbolizes the boundary between the visible and the hidden, between what is overt
and what is concealed. Between
what is permitted and what is not.
It's a story about the strength and great need for interpersonal relationships. Mutual support, the need to be together. Faced with uncertainty
and difficult-to-overcome barriers,
the emotional and psychological aspects of life in hiding, in isolation, prompt relationships beyond boundaries.
